Lately i’ve been avoiding my tasks! I know what I want to do, but I just don’t want to get them done. Well, actually I do… but not really.

Have you ever been to places where the first two times, and even the third seem perfect, but then by the fifth and sixth times not so good? Is it me or has the quality of the product/service/place changed? Eventually you get tired and stop visiting them. Then you find a new place to visit where everything is perfect, but by the fifth visit, it’s the same sick cycle once again.
I’ve been to several cities filled with these places, and surprisingly they are still open, with no customers or an abandoned building prevails reminding you of what once was there and with no promises of sale or investments in it.
The city where I was born is a very sad example. Lots of hotels and restaurants…..
I guess the blame goes to the owner who refuses to innovate when everything else is changing and all businesses around it continue moving foward. Or he simply refused to get out of the comfort zone he stayed in once his business was successful just because he never noticed he had to move foward on time. Maybe he forgot about his vision, and slowly got tired of keeping intact his business stragedy, the reason why customers made it a prosperous place.
Or maybe the people, culture are the ones to be blamed; looking for new places constantly, getting tired of the places they once went to… Or looking for a change.
What can be done. If it’s a good place, how can they help it become a tradition, and never loose their name in time. How to maintain the quality, cleaness, shine of the place, so that people never get tired of going. How to keep moving with the always changing and advancing culture and at the same time, keep the tradition. A progressing tradition?
I guess it’s not an easy task, and there are too many factors involved. Inconsistent factors, that you never know what to expect..

I just finished watching “The Ultimate Gift” based on the book by Jim Stovall… and it got me here writing. If I can write all the other nonsense, then I most certainly need to write about this. The message simply knocked me off my feet and brought some sense into my head…. as this blog starts off, I’ve been having second thoughts about things, maybe lost sight of what I had cleared out in my mind before.
This movie is about a grandson who before he receives his inheritance, needs to complete a series of tasks and collect different gifts. He needs to learn 12 gifts before Jason can receive the ultimate one. I will go ahead and list them, if you want to read the book or watch the movie, skip the numbered list below:
The gift of…
All I could say was, “Man! What the heck have I been thinking?” Life isn’t about saving up, or earning money, pleasures, having fun, spending, trips, shopping… its way more than all that, and the worse is, maybe that’s the way I’m heading. It’s more a life of serving others, giving, to grant a perfect day or a dream to someone who it might be impossible for. Just knowing it’s nice to have money in your pocket and being able to enjoy stuff/things/whatever but also being capable of surviving when all that is gone and being conscious of those around us that have, in very few opportunities, enjoyed anything at all.
Its learning what is really important, knowing not everything comes free or easy, not taking family, friends, people, and things for granted. Knowing some things come only after hard work. Being able to learn even from my “problems”, and when boredom takes over. Being able to take advantage of every moment, making life a learning process. Giving someone the opportunity to learn.
Ouch. The gift of love: Loving and being loved. Loving even when you’re not loved back. Giving of yourself even though in your mind the other person doesn’t deserve it. Taking care of and nourishing those that you love and love you by default. Being grateful/thankful to God, family, friends, others and for everything you are and aren’t and have and don’t have.
There is so much that can be done and needs to be done… and it’s so easy! Don’t need to change the world, and certainly not wait for the world to change.. Start off with a laugh and make some else smile. Then maybe their smile will turn into laughter too and everything else will start changing on it’s own. Take time out of my always very busy and carefully planned schedule to do something out of the ordinary, or simply but for someone else. I just realized I need to pop the bubble I suddenly live inside of and stop being selfish and start giving…
I guess that’s one way to change the world.

My birthday came and is now gone…
What do I want for this new year?
I will not loose my identity nor integrity.
I won’t be a guy any day of this year.
I won’t fear and go forth in terms of dreams and goals.
My Tree is the Ash Tree – uncommonly attractive, vivacious, impulsive, demanding, does not care for criticism, ambitious, intelligent, talented, likes to play with fate, can be egotistic, very reliable and trustworthy, faithful and prudent lover, sometimes brains rule over the heart, but takes partnership very seriously.

Do you have an open mind?
How many times have I heard this, how many times have I been accused of lacking it. Is this the last resource for those without an argument?
What is having an open mind? Is it accepting the way people choose to live by breaking moral rules and social standards? How about being open minded about those who choose to live the opposite? Does it only count when lot’s of drinking, sex, etc.. or does it apply when celibacy is the lifestyle taken? Why can’t “open mindness” be applied to those who chose to not move with the moral steps society takes? Against the current, against what is easier, against what is even logical, staying behind… can you be open minded about that?
Let’s take it to a different level: Open mind; as in being more open to new experiences and ways of thinking. Being open mind about experiencing God and letting him change you, accepting those who think this way, and those who simply don’t.
People can help what they live and who they become by the choices they make… what they can’t control are the consequences that come with the choices made. Live and let live.. each one will have consequences to face.. Isn’t that enough to take up most of you time anyways?
